1 Roasted breadfruit
1 lb ground beef
2 tbs vegetable oil
1/2 lg onion or 1 small onion
1 clove garlic
2 cans chilli beans (found Bush Chili beans!) (can also add a small can of Grace BBQ beans for a zesty flavor)
Mrs. Dash extra spicy (add to taste)
Scotch bonnet sauce (add to taste)
Dash of salt if you like your sodium
Anchor cheddar cheese
Peel and slice roasted breadfruit to desired size (I did mine like french fry wedges). Place in standard size baking pan (roughly 12x16in”).
Pour two tbs vegetable oil in hot frying pan and then place in 1lb ground beef with grated onion and grated garlic clove (graters are pretty cheap at the local china shops, or you can have fun dicing with your machete style knife!). Add spices/scotch bonnet sauce to taste (depends on how spicy you like your chili!). Toss in skillet till beef is browned and onions sautéed. (If you like your onions well done I suggest adding them prior to ground beef).
In mixing bowl place two-three cans chilli beans/BB beans (I cooked the dish with 2 cans Bush chili beans and one can Grace BBQ beans). Add cooked beef and mix to get your chili! Place the mix evenly over roasted bread fruit. Grate anchor cheddar cheese and sprinkle on top (I used the whole block because I like it extra cheesy…and it looks pretty!)
Everything is really already cooked so place in the oven too warm and melt cheese on top. I placed mine in the oven at 245 deg for about 12 minutes (Im sure Jamaican ovens vary so know your oven!)

PS vegetarian/Rasta version is super easy…just minus the ground beef!
